Weekend Visitors!
There’s nothing I love or appreciate more than visitors from my hometown. So when my Dad texted me last week informing me of their plans to visit us this past weekend, I was nothing less than thrilled. I went to work that day and immediately put in my request for time off on Monday so I could have more time to spend with two of my besties. PTO, approved! Bring on the ‘rents!
Nick and I spent Thursday in Indy doing various house things. We met with our cabinet and interior designers together to hammer out some details and then with our banker to do more of the same. We got our final house plans this past week and if all goes well, we will hopefully start the building process by the end of the month!! Yahoo

Mom, Dad and Griffy arrived around 8pm and we spent the night in relaxation mode. In fact, the relaxation continued throughout Sunday as well. We started the day off with our classic biscuits and coffee, while the pups got in some good play time. A little later, the guys and the girls parted ways for a bit. The guys spent a few hours at the driving range while the girls hung at home Pinteresting and Houzz-ing. A baby on the way = baby shower planning in progress!

After our boys returned that afternoon, we watched the IU basketball game in our sweats in front of the fire. The blustery weather coincided with our moods very nicely. We decided to pick things up a bit later and drove down to our future hometown for dinner at Stone Creek Dining Co. We had a wonderful dinner topped with cocktails,,, and mocktails!!

Come to mama!

Monday the hubs had to work, so Mom, Dad & I spent the day shopping in Indy. We hit up The Container Store, The Fashion Mall at Keystone, Golfsmith, and,,, Buy Buy Baby. Holy sensory overload. Someone is going to have to guide me through this whole baby thing. For now I’ll just stick with buying oodles of “fat pants.”
After we returned home, we celebrated Griffy’s 7th and my upcoming birthday with presents and ice cream cake while watching ‘Flight.’ It was another cozy night with my favorite people.

My eyes welled up this morning as I walked into work reading a text from my Dad that said, “Miss you already.” Though it’s never easy living far from those you love, it makes the times spent together all the more precious. I’m already looking forward to my next trip home <3 Who’s coming to visit next?!
Thanks for a wonderful weekend, Mom, Dad & Griffy!! Love you guys! xoxoxo
