Catch up time! Sorry for the laziness on the blog-front. It’s definitely not for lack of activity, that’s for sure!
So a few weeks ago, the hubs and I took a mini-vacation to Chicago. I took a half day on Wednesday and we drove up to the Windy City that night (with a pit stop at the in-laws to drop off the furbaby). The hubs had a work conference, which was what brought us there. But in reality we spent most of our time doing anything but working! I took to the streets of Michigan Avenue shopping and he spent a lot of time watching NCAA basketball with friends he hasn’t seen in awhile. That’s why they call it March Madness, baby!
Thursday night our long-lost friends Ben & Rachel came into town and we celebrated our reunion with an amazing dinner at Tobolabampo. It felt like we had walked into Top Chef! The food was unreal, the service was fantastic, and the company was even better. Such fun.
Friday, Rachel and I did A LOT of retail therapy (hey, mama needed a bump-friendly wardrobe!) at Anthropologie and Gap Maternit. It was another gorgeous day in the city. Breezy of course, but full of sunshine. After our girly shenanigans, the hubs and I went to his residency alumni cocktail hour at Gibson’s Steakhouse. It was so good to see so many old familiar faces! Boy, how far life has come since Beaumont Hospital 😉 We scurried out of there to meet up with my brother Ricky and his girl Samantha for dinner at Little Market Brasserie. Another amazingly fun night with lots of laughs.
Saturday we decided to head out earlier than expected due to the snowstorm that was threatening the midwest. Instead we spent the night at the in-laws and celebrated an early Easter dinner the following Sunday. And we made it all the way home without any snow on our tires.
The snowstorm came through though. Later that night. Leaving nearly 10 inches of powder in it’s path. Happy Spring, eh?
I’m pretty sure Allie was the only one that got enjoyment out of it.
Luckily by the end of the week, the snow was on it’s way out.
This past weekend was Easter and my family drove in from Michigan and Chicago to visit. It’s so fun to have everyone under the same roof ~ it definitely doesn’t happen often enough. It’s pretty well known that there’s not a whole lot of happenings in our current city of Muncie, so usually our get togethers involve a lot of loafing around, eating, drinking and laughing. And that’s exactly what we did, true to form.
Easter Sunday was pretty standard: Mom and I spent the day in the kitchen while the men spent the day golfing, eating and napping. What’s wrong with these pictures?
Grub was awesome tho. That’s all that matters 🙂
We did receive some VERY exciting news over the weekend. We got word from our builder on Thursday that construction on our new home was going to start Monday, April 1!!!! I decided right then and there that a trip down to our lot was a must so we could take some pre-construction pics.
And as of April 1,,,,
And April 2,,,
We have action!!! 😀
Now can we just FFWD 8 months???
As for the bump: it’s certainly growing! 25 weeks and counting. Hard to believe. And baby is making it’s presence VERY well known. Feels like Dance Party USA lately. And I LOVE it (more updates to come very soon).
And that’s March for ya!
