Every year at this time I reflect over the things for which I am thankful. Although these posts are redundant to some degree, they are important. For me, life is all about being appreciative for those people and things that help make my world a better place. And reflecting on them is just something we do on this fourth Thursday of November! So in no particular order, here are some of the people I thank my lucky stars for, this year and every year.
To Emery. Oh, E. You have, without a doubt, been the biggest blessing of 2013. It’s incredible to think about how last year at this time you were just a little bean in my belly running the Drumstick Dash along with me. And now here you are, a beautiful four month old and the absolute light of our lives. I’m thankful that you are a healthy and happy boy. That you’re growing each and every day. And that in this short amount of time, you have given Daddy and I a whole new perspective on life. We love you!!
To my husband, I’m SO thankful for you. Yes, you! This year has been insane. & insanely good if you ask me. From the new baby, to the new house, we have gone through more new things in one year than a lot of people go through in 5! And through it all, you have been beyond wonderful. You work so hard to give our family a great life. And even though I may not thank you out loud very often, please know how much you are appreciated. Every single day. To Emery, Allie and I 🙂
To both of our families, near and extended! We couldn’t be more grateful for the outpouring of love and support before and after Emery was born. We hope you know just how special you are to us!
To our friends. Though there are lots of you we don’t see very often, you are always in our thoughts. Its nice to reflect on past memories and also to think about how much life has changed for us all. & TG for social media so we can all keep in touch somehow!! 😉
To being a SAHM. My new role has certainly been a life-changer, but I wouldn’t trade it for anything. Being able to spend precious moments with Emery as he grows up is irreplaceable. I love being the first and last person he sees each day. Having said that, I’m also very grateful for my NP degree as it waits in the wings til I’m ready to return!
To life. Sure it’s stressful at times. And sure I’ve been known to get worked up over minor things (thanks Twitter). But when it comes down to it, I love life. So much. Everyone that’s in it. Every opportunity it gives me. And every breath I take. It’s too short not to appreciate every second we get. So on this Thanksgiving, think about who and what it is that’s important to you. And thank them.
Love ya’ll 🙂 Happy Thanksgiving!!!
