I’ve read a bunch of these “types” of posts from some of my favorite bloggers, so since I’ve already done the dishes cleaned our wood floors (yay 4 nap time!), I thought I’d give one a try for myself. Consider it a brain dump of sorts!
I recently saw the cutest mug sweater on Etsy and thought, how brilliant! There’s no reason the cup that provides me with so much coziness doesn’t deserve it’s own comfort. So as E and I were perusing the holiday section at Target yesterday, I stumbled across this little delight! And as expected, it gave me all the warmth I needed on this cold Indiana morning. I’m positive she will be getting a lot of use during these cold months to come.
A while back, I was texting my friend Amanda about the dangers of the FB Marketplace she introduced me to (dangerous to my bank account that is). That convo led to DIY, and Pinterest fails, which led to telling her my need to find someone to “flip” some of our old furniture. Well she came in clutch and hooked me up with her friend Allison, who had done some amazing furniture renos. After a few months of coordinating, Annie Sloan chalk paint selections and 4 full days of painting, our old grungy bookcases and bedroom set have been refreshed and now look OH SO AMAZING!!!!! Look!
I literally can’t stop staring at the beautiful work she did. It’s SUCH an incredible transformation. I would recommend her services to anyone in a heartbeat! Thanks again Allison!!! 🙂
For whatever reason, ever since Daylight Savings Time we have been having the most unbelievable sunrises and sunsets. Our house faces north, so we get amazing views at dawn and dusk. Particularly from our breakfast nook, which has fast become one of my favorite spaces in our home. Of course, pictures never do the beauty justice, but these few turned out pretty darn good.
PiYo Month 2
Last week I completed my first month of PiYo. I wasn’t sure what to expect when I ordered the DVD set + Shakeology, but I had heard such great reviews so I wanted to give it a shot. Particularly because my fitness levels had been scraping the bottom of the barrel as of late and I needed a change in routine. Though I’ll most likely write a full review when I’m done with the 60 day challenge, I just have to say that I’m hooked. On both! I now wake up before the sun (& E!) almost everyday to get my sweat on, and when I don’t, I feel like a slug. Starting my day with those endorphins is just what I’ve been missing. I’ve also got the accountability I need from the girls in the PiYo Party Challenge FB group, who keep me thinking about my nutrition and hydration (which I ALWAYS need). Though I’m just a couple days into month 2, the changes I’m seeing in my body are so. exciting!! Stay tuned!
My friend Angie told me that she was taking up knitting a couple weeks ago. For some reason, it sparked something inside me, and all of a sudden I wanted to knit too! I have knitted a few scarves in the past but it had been a long time since I last picked up a needle and yarn. I happened upon a bag of knitting supplies in our storage room a few days after our convo and after a few YouTube refresher courses on knitting and purling, I was back! Turns out knitting is like riding a bike! Angie and I went to a knit shop for supplies last weekend and I’m already almost done with my first project, a winter headband! Just a couple more rows and buttons to go. I’m excited to make some new fun stuff and maybe even take some classes. Anyone up for starting a knitting club with me?! I’ll provide the wine! 😉
E & I tend to struggle in the afternoon hours. Mornings aren’t usually a problem. But I find that if I’m not keeping us both active as the day goes on, we get restless and moody and the hours last FOREVER. We’ve been going to Gymboree since January, but had yet to participate in any other activities beyond our normal classes. Turns out, they also offer age-specific open gyms at regular intervals during the week. I found an open gym on Wednesday from 330-5p, figuring it would be a perfect solution to our long days. And it was! E had a blast just running around without any structure (our weekly class includes a few activities, most of which he tries to run away from). We went again yesterday and met up with E’s friend Callie and his mom Lauren. They spent their hour and a half playing with balls, bouncing on a soft mat, and “decorating” a feather for the giant Turkey Tom (he was responsible for the squiggles on the bottom). I have a feeling we will be attending a lot of these gyms this winter.
I loved writing this post!! Did you enjoy reading?? Well get to liking them because I’ll definitely be back with more 😉
Happy Thursday!! (ps,, it’s snowing. brrrrrrr)
