Hi and happy September! Is it just me or is anyone else excited that fall is right around the corner?! Especially since the weather is miserably hot this week, making me crave jeans, boots, and scarf weather. Not to mention the apple picking and pumpkin everything that’s on it’s way! Yippee! Anyhoo, I realize it’s been a hot minute since my last update (don’t judge), but that’s quite alright because I’m back right now to fill in ALL the blanks from the month of August!
I left off with our final wedding trip of the year on Mackinaw Island, and what a stunner it was. After all that driving, one would think that would’ve kept me from any more road trips. Quite the contrary! The following weekend was our annual Perfect Strangers summer vacay and since we had such a blast last year, we decided to go back to Nashville for a long weekend!
We rented a condo on the opposite side of town as last year, which didn’t have much of an address but did have a nice landmark.
The first car arrived early Thursday evening with the second car arriving later that night. By that time, Kelly, Meggie, Emily & I had already been boot shopping, spelunked down Printer’s Alley, and began choreographing our very own line dance. #heeltoedosido
Friday we started off with some physical activity, then made our way to the condo pool for sun + beverages. There was a minor snafu with the pool situation, and our “hopping the fence” incident nearly got us kicked out completely. So we spent the cloudy afternoon on the terrace instead. Before we knew it, we were getting ready for our first night out, which went a little something like this,,
Saturday we started with brunch at The Row and then finally made it poolside!
Then it was time for Broadway round 2!
In the blink of an eye we were on the road back to Indy. Yet another amazing trip with some of the best girls I know. Love you!
Since #PSNV15, things have been much more low key,,,
We finally got new bedroom furniture!! And we’re completely in love. I must’ve taken a weeks worth of naps the week it arrived. There’s still a long way to go before the room is complete, but at least this is a start!
Emery got another haircut, though we kept the trim minimal. I just love his surfer boy do too much to chop it all off.
We took a morning trip to Mass Ave Toys downtown where E ogled the dancing lady.
We took our first trip to the Indiana State Fair this year with our friends Angela and Dominic. We took the 40 minute “choo-choo” ride so we didn’t have to drive and once we arrived, the kiddos let loose! I’ll let the pictures do the talking. It was an absolute blast,, we will definitely be back next year!
We celebrated Henry’s 2nd birthday where E + D spent most of the time wrestling on the couch.
Speaking of shenanigans, there were lots of good times spent with E and his buddies this month.
The hubs and I celebrated our 7th anniversary on 8/23. A while back when talking about how we should celebrate, I mentioned taking a trip to Chicago. It was well recepted, except instead of a romantic trip with just the two of us, it turned into a couples adventure with the Sprungers! Cubs game included. Don’t get me wrong, it was an awesome trip. And I’m so glad I got a chance to see my brother, Ricky! But you still owe me a nice dinner, babe! 😉
Shortly after we got back to Indy, my Mom and Auntie Paula arrived! They came to visit us from Sunday to Tuesday where we had a blast shopping, lunching, and celebrating Mom’s birthday!
We took Emery on the golf course last Friday night for his first round of golf with Daddy. The course was nearly empty so we had a ball watching him whack the ball everywhere. As you may have guessed, he absolutely loved it. So much so that we took him out again the next night (per his request).
I’ve been saying for years now that I’ve wanted to go to DigIN, a food festival in downtown Indianapolis. Well I finally put my money where my mouth is this year and went! It was awesome. Tons of tents with tons of booths with tons of chefs from all across the state. The price of admission gets you samples from each booth, along with a glass for beer and wine tastings from wineries + breweries in Indiana. Though it was a scorching day outside, Angela and I had a blast eating and drinking our faces off! Will def be back.
Whew! I guess this was a busy month! Now do I get a little slack for not blogging?? 😉 Here are a few straggler pics (mostly of E) to wrap up this post.
Ta ta for now, loves. xo.
