In my recent two month blog-strike, I realize I missed documenting a lot of fun things. Like Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas & New Years, hello!! So I thought I’d dig out the old DSLR and revisit some of those events, photo-heavy recaps included. For you, for me, for everybody!
This year was Emery’s first year trick or treating. He dressed up as Sully from one of his favorite movies, Monsters, Inc. The weather was mild and dry, so we took his wagon out for a ride down our street and back, lasting about an hour and a half. We were pretty apprehensive as to how he would do in his costume, but he surprised us all and did awesome! The longer he was out, the more comfortable he became going up to each house and saying his “trick or treat!” And he definitely loved chowing down on his candy on the way! [ps,, I miss those long blonde summer surfer-boy locks].
We split our long holiday weekend between families this year, the first half spent in Michigan, the second in Northern Indiana. A few of us started Turkey Day with a 5k Turkey Trot in downtown Detroit (bump included!). The rest of the weekend was spent devouring all sorts of deliciousness.
The Christmas season was a ton of fun this year. Between making gingerbread houses, baking cookies, ugly sweater parties, and visiting Santa, we certainly made the most of the month!
New Years 2015
Like last year, we rang in 2016 with our friends and families. The littles had a mock ball drop around 730p, followed by dancing and all kinds of bouncing. We hoped for an MSU bowl win, but came up sadly disappointed. The clock struck midnight with everyone tucked tightly in their beds. Literally no other way I’d rather spend my night.
And that wraps up holiday season 2015! I’m realizing as time ticks on that I haven’t been documenting our lives nearly as much as I would like to be, especially with baby #2 right around the corner. So here’s my never-ending promise to be more present in this space. So many happenings deserving of attention ~~ mama wants no regrets 🙂
Happy Monday. xo.
