Hey there! My name is Briana and welcome to Nurse with a Purse! I hope to keep you entertained with my running, nursing, and traveling stories. Here’s a little bit about me,,,

Hubs and Wifey

I’m a 30-something originally from southeastern Michigan, now living in central Indiana with my husband of 3 years and our goldendoodle, Allie. I attended Michigan State University for my bachelor’s degree in nursing and Oakland University for my master’s degree as a family nurse practitioner. I’ve been bopped all over the country as of late, but we have happily set up camp in central Indiana for the time being.

My Girl

I have a newfound “love” for running as of January 2009, when I decided to start training for my first ever half marathon. I had run a couple of 5K’s prior, but anything over 3 miles was a daunting task. My first “big” race was the RNR Country Music Half Marathon in Nashville and it definitely gave me the racing bug. I have now completed a number of races including my first marathon this past fall!

Half Mary Love

Cooking is fabulous. So is eating. I could do both all day everyday. With a glass/bottle of wine in hand, of course. Half the reason I wanted to start this blog is because I have been so motivated by all the foodies out there who have shared such amazing recipes and food tips. So while on a much subtler note, that will be another aspect of my blog.

Nomnomnom

Another passion of mine that has yet to fully take off is that of photography. I bought a fabulous DSLR camera a few years ago and though I love it, I need need need to take a class to get me beyond the basic point and shoot. I’m hoping that this blog will show my evolution in that department too!

Say Cheese!

Clearly, being a family nurse practitioner (aka. FNP) is who I am, so be prepared for some real life work-related stories to come your way. My mom always told me I should write a book about my life as a nurse. Well, Mom,, I hope this will suffice :)

Thanks for visiting,
